We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

The service always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.

The service performed in line with the national average for the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. This showed 84% of people felt the healthcare professional was good at treating them with care and concern. This compared to the national average of 86%. Also, 81% said the reception and administrative team were helpful, compared to the national average of 85%. We observed reception staff and clinicians speaking with patients in a kind and dignified way.

All staff were up to date with mandatory training in the Mental Capacity Act, and this training included in formation about the Gillick competency. The service used early identification toolkits to identify people who may require more care or referral to other services. There were regular meetings with district nurses and palliative care nurses to ensure people received the care and support they needed.
