Our view of the service
Stockton-on-Tees Dialysis Clinic is operated by Diaverum, an independent healthcare provider. The clinic opened in 2004 as a nurse-led satellite facility. There are 16 dialysis stations in the Unit, which is operated in partnership with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The clinic provides renal care to NHS patients over the age of 18 in the local area as well as holiday patients.
The clinic is open Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday. Stockton Dialysis Clinic also runs a nocturnal dialysis service from 07:00 - 07:00 hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the clinic is open from 07.00 – 18.00.
We conducted an on-site assessment visit of Stockton Dialysis Clinic on 11th November 2025. This was a short notice announced assessment, which means the clinic was informed at 4pm on the day before the visit.
We assessed the Dialysis Services assessment service group at this location. The service was last inspected in 2017 and was not rated at that inspection.
At this assessment we assessed 33 quality statements.
People's experience of this service
The people we spoke to who used the service told us that they were happy with the service they received. They said that staff were friendly and supportive.
Patients told us that if they had any concerns, they knew how to raise them. The key concern we heard from patients was about long waiting times for ambulances. They told us that staff were always helpful in contacting the ambulance service on their behalf, but waiting times remained long.
In the 2024 Perception of Care Survey the service scored 7 out of 10 in relation to the patients’ overall experience of the service.
