Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a wholly positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We reviewed the feedback from the recent practice patient surveys and the monthly friends and family audits which were wholly positive. Patient online comments and feedback we reviewed provided a wholly positive level of satisfaction with the care and treatment received at the practice. Comments included, “Amazing, very understanding and explain everything really well,” and “Lovely practice.”

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. Staff told us, “Yes, I do and it feels like genuine communication. When receiving feedback my manager will always go into detail on why she is giving me the feedback. Whether it be a query with a patient, a system issue, or personal feedback, it is always backed up with a reason on why it is important and she always ensures that I understand fully.”
