Governance, management and sustainability
At the inspection on 6 November 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:
A fire risk assessment had been carried out and all actions were completed. Fire alarms and emergency lighting were now being tested on a regular basis and the emergency lighting had been serviced.
The sharps risk assessment had been updated and discussed with staff. An “Accident, Incident and Notification policy” had also been implemented, to ensure any significant events were discussed with staff.
We saw that manufacturer safety data sheets and risk assessments were available for all hazardous materials.
The practice now had arrangements in place to ensure staff training, including continuing professional development, was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals.
The practice had procedures in place to reduce the risk of Legionella, or other bacteria, developing in water systems, in line with a new risk assessment. Monthly hot water temperature checks were now in range and staff knew the steps to take should temperatures fall outside the range.
Additionally, the practice had improved their infection, prevention and control (IPC) procedures and these reflected published guidance.
