Workforce wellbeing and enablement

Score: 3

The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff, and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care. Staff from induction were provided with the skills and knowledge to feel confident to provide safe and effective support. Support was provided through supervision, appraisal and team meetings. Staff were encouraged to develop professionally and the majority reported feeling well supported. One staff member told us, “Management has always got time if I have any issues. Their door is always open. They are very supportive.” However, we received some feedback that not all staff felt their suggestions were heard or that they were supported by all of the senior team. We shared this with the provider who agreed to explore this, to ensure all staff felt consistently supported. The provider had systems in place to recognise staff performance and promote morale including staff appreciation initiatives and other incentives.
