Our view of the service
Date of assessment 23 June 2026 to 16 July 2026.
Pembroke Care is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people in their own homes. This assessment was carried out in response to concerns regarding the governance of the service and following a change of ownership. At the previous inspection, the service was in breach of regulations relating to safe care and treatment, good governance. We found improvements had been made and the service was no longer in breach of these regulations.
We found systems and processes were in place to support the delivery of safe, person-centred care. At the time of the assessment, one person was receiving support from the provider. Both the person and their relative provided positive feedback about the care delivered.
Risks were appropriately assessed and managed in a way that promoted safety while maintaining independence. Staff had received relevant training and demonstrated a good understanding of the person's needs.
The provider worked effectively with health and social care professionals to support continuity of care. Governance arrangements, including audits and quality monitoring processes, provided effective oversight of the service and supported continuous improvement.
People's experience of this service
We gathered feedback from the person receiving support, their relative and professionals involved with the service. Feedback was positive, with the person describing the staff as "very thoughtful" and saying they were "a jolly good outfit." Their relative told us they had confidence in the care provided and felt reassured their family member was safe and well supported.
