Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 29 January 2026 to 11 February 2026. The service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to older adults, adults with dementia and physical disabilities.

Accident and incidents were not always identified and recorded to capture themes and learning for the future.

People received their care visits. Some of the care visits were late. However, we identified no missed visits.

Systems and processes were in place. Some audits did not always identify patterns and themes of concern.

Care plans were person centred and detailed to capture people’s needs. People’s care was reviewed regularly to ensure care was meeting their up-to-date needs.

Staff completed a thorough induction and training before providing people with care. Staff were skilled and confident in their roles.

The director, registered manager and nominated individual actively attended additional training and information sessions to promote a high quality of care.

Staff were knowledgeable about people’s care needs. Staff understood when to raise a concern and the appropriate people to report these to.

People's experience of this service

People mostly provided positive feedback for the care they received. People did raise some concerns about the way some staff conducted themselves. One relative told us, “They don’t talk to [relative] when they come in. Don’t introduce themselves.” A further relative shared with us, “[Person] has the safety of knowing they [staff] are coming in. I know [Person] is safe and ok.”

People raised concerns around care call times and staff arriving late. One relative told us, “Sometimes [Person] is waiting for 20 minutes for them to turn up. We don’t get a call to say they are running late. This makes my [Person] anxious. We have to phone them to see where they are.” Another relative told us, “They don’t ring ahead to say they are going to be late. [Person] not worried as they know they are coming. It’s not an issue.”

People mostly received consistent staff to provide their care. One person did share with us their experience where staff were not consistent, “[Relative] has asked if it can be a regular person who knows the [Person]. The office did say they would do this. It happened a couple of times, then went back to different staff coming.”
