Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 19 to 24 June 2026.
Fair Haven is a care home registered to provide care and support for up to 30 people. The home provides residential and nursing care for older adults, some of whom are living with dementia. There were 26 people living at the service during our inspection. The service offered respite placements in addition to permanent accommodation.
People had access to a wide variety of activities. Incidents and accidents were monitored effectively, lessons were learned and policies and procedures supported staff to raise any concerns. People were supported by a consistent team of staff who knew them well. Staff referred people to healthcare professionals in a timely manner.People’s views and preferences were communicated and acted upon. People’s medicines were managed safely.
Staff were happy in their roles. A staff member said, “I enjoy being part of the Fair Haven team and I feel proud of the work we do. Everyone works hard to support the people we care for and make sure they are looked after well. We support each other as a team and always try to create a safe and happy place for everyone.”
Governance systems were in place to ensure oversight of the service.
