Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 20 October 2025 to 31 October 2025. Earls Lodge Care Home is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care to up to 52 people with care and support needs. The service provides support to older people and people living with dementia. At the time of our assessment there were 49 people using the service. This was a responsive assessment to review breaches of regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance and also prompted by concerns which we had received in relation. We found no evidence to substantiate the concerns which we had received and enough improvements to demonstrate the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.People were supported in an environment that was clean and hygienic. The provider used an electronic care recording system, however, there were gaps in some people’s records. We found some concerns with security for the building. Where people required equipment to further mitigate risks, this was in place. We received positive feedback about the staff working at the service from people and relatives and we observed kind and caring interactions. People could access care and support when they needed to and in a way that worked for them. There was lots of community fundraising completed by staff which was used towards activities for people. The provider’s governance systems were not always effective in identifying the concerns we found.
