We found that the provider had taken steps to ensure that the safety and welfare of people who used the service was protected by the display of appropriate signage warning about radiation in the service. We also found that the provider had ensured that equipment for use in an emergency was properly serviced and maintained.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with six people who used the service, who each told us they were very happy with the care and treatment they received. One person said "The dentist is very kind and always very pleasant. He does a good job and takes all the pain away". Another person said "The nurses are always very polite and professional, and the receptionists are just lovely. They are so good with the children". A third person told us "I can always get an appointment when I need to, with a little wait. Absolutely no complaints here".

We found that the provider carried out appropriate assessments and developed treatment plans, and that people's medical histories were updated at the beginning of each appointment. However, we found that emergency equipment was not always appropriately maintained.

We saw that the provider had taken steps to safeguard people from the risk of abuse, and found that the premises met government guidelines for cleanliness and infection control.

The provider had an appropriate recruitment and selection procedure in place. We saw that staff were skilled, qualified and experienced for their roles, and where staff were being trained they received appropriate support.

We found that the provider sought feedback on the service that people received, and undertook a number of audits of service quality.
