Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 11 February 2026.

This was a planned assessment of a diagnostic imaging service. This assessment was conducted because of the aged rating.

During our inspection, we visited the reception area, the scanning room, and other rooms used within the business. We spoke with 5 members of staff, including the CQC registered manager and area manager. We also observed 5 scanning appointments and reviewed the policies, procedures, staff and women's records.

The service remains rated as good overall. People received safe and effective care, with systems in place to manage risk and promote learning. There were enough staff to ensure people’s safety and needs were met through good organisation and delivery. Women were supported and treated with dignity and respect. The service was well-led, with a good culture of improvement and person-centred care. We found breaches of regulations during this assessment in relation to safe environment and risk assessments.

People's experience of this service

Women and their loved ones we spoke with during the assessment spoke positively about the care they received, and the staff treated them with warmth and kindness. They described staff as kind, compassionate, caring, respectful and professional. We observed staff treating people with care, respect, dignity and compassion throughout the assessment.

The service gathered client feedback through direct conversations and reviews of feedback, women and their loved ones submitted online. We reviewed women’s feedback for the past 12 months and saw that the majority was positive and showed high levels of satisfaction of women's experience and care received. Areas of poor satisfaction were relatively low (2.3%) and mainly related to waiting time and quality of images received.

People we spoke with said they did not feel anxious about raising concerns. However, some women experienced delays in having their scan during a busy clinic.
