Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice with the kindness and friendliness of staff along with support for nervous patients particularly highlighted. Comments included, ‘I have tried other services and the care is not comparable to the care I receive at this practice. My whole family come here now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. We are always informed about treatments offered and the care is always explained thoroughly. The friendly atmosphere makes us always feel welcome and there’s never any pressure to get through the appointments quickly so the next patient can be seen. I especially like the personable approach and the relationship built with our dentist. Nothing would encourage us to go anywhere else.’

Further comments included, ‘Have been going to this practice all my life and the care I have had over the years has been nothing but first class. All the team are very professional and helpful.’

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. One person told us, ‘Fantastic dental practice. Clean, welcoming environment. Friendly staff, who couldn't help us enough. They all treated us with the utmost respect. Our Dentist was outstanding. They took great care to make our children feel welcome, making them feel at ease and creating a positive experience. They spoke both directly to us, as parents, to explain what they were doing, but also communicated really well with our little ones. The best experience we have had.’

We were provided with analysis of the providers ongoing patient survey which had received over 900 responses. Feedback was universally positive and comments reflected those received by our inspector.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

There was a well-established, motivated staff team who told us they felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
