Our view of the service

Date of assessment 28 July to 18 August 2026.
13b is a domiciliary homecare service providing personal care as a live in care service to people living in their own homes. The service was known to people by the providers name Just Live In Care Ltd and will be referred to as Just Live In Care ltd throughout the report.

Not everyone who uses the service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where staff do support people with personal care, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this assessment the service was supporting 5 people with the regulated activity of personal care.

People were supported by kind, and caring staff. The registered manager ensured people were supported by staff who they related well with. This included reflecting hobbies, interests and cultures. People received the care and supported they required and wished for. Individual care plans were developed with people and their families when they started using the service. These were reviewed and developed over time. People’s dignity and privacy was respected and promoted by those supporting them. Staff actively supported people to retain and improve their independence.

People were protected from the risk of abuse, harm or discrimination. Their medicines were managed safely. Staff knew people well and understood the care and support required. There were enough staff who had been safely recruited and received ongoing training and support. People were supported to maintain good health. Staff were proactive in ensuring people’s needs were responded to and met in a timely way.

Risks to people were well managed. Staff told us they felt valued, supported and listened to. They were able to contribute to the development of the service. There was a positive culture. The provider and staff were committed to improving and developing the service, for the benefit of the people who lived there. Staff spoke highly of the management team.
The registered manager had good oversight of the service. There were systems in place to support effective management which would be developed as the service grew.
 

People's experience of this service

People’s relatives spoke highly of the service. They told us about improvements and good outcomes in their loved one’s lives since they had received live-in care. One relative told us, “I really fell on my feet when I found this agency.”They told us the registered manager had worked hard to find the right staff to provide the live in support. They told us they had trialled various staff members until they had found the right one’s that reflected their loved one’s personal preferences.


Relatives told us they worked together with the registered manager and staff to provide the care and support their loved ones needed. They told us they and their loved ones felt safe with the staff and risks were well managed.Whilst relatives told us they did not have any complaints or concerns they would be happy to raise them if they did. They told us they spoke to the live in staff if they had any concerns. They also told us about the registered manager or support managers weekly visits which also gave them opportunities for any discussions and feedback.
