Our view of the service
We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 5 June 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Southbrook Dental Practice on 20 November 2024, with follow up inspections on 3 July 2025 and 25 March 2026. We had found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of Regulation 17 Good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During this follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.
Improvements had been made to manage the risks associated with the carrying out of the regulated activities. In particular, fire safety, infection prevention and control, legionella and carrying out risk assessments.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and were consistently followed.
There was oversight of staff training and systems to ensure staff understood and followed procedures.
Improvements had been made to the documentation in dental care records.
Improvements had been made to the governance and oversight of the practice. Appropriate up-to-date policies were now in place and being followed.
Southbrook Dental Practice is in Bradford and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms, but only 1 was in use. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 4 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 1 trainee dental nurse and 1 receptionist. During the inspection we spoke with both dentists, the dental nurse, and the receptionist.
