17 July 2026

We looked for evidence that staff involved people in decisions about their care and treatment and provided them advice and support. Staff regularly reviewed people’s care and worked with other services to achieve this. At our last assessment in November 2025, we rated this key question as requires improvement because of the concerns found. At this assessment in July 2026, we assessed 2 quality statements (assessing needs and delivering evidence-based care and treatment) and the rating for other quality statements have remained from the previous assessment in November 2025. At this assessment, the rating has changed from requires improvement to good because the previous concerns had been addressed and the risks mitigated.

This service scored 71 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.

Assessing needs

Score: 3

The service made sure people’s care and treatment was effective by assessing and reviewing their health, care, wellbeing and communication needs with them. Reception staff were aware of the needs of the local community. At the last assessment in November 2025, from our review of clinical records we found that not all needs were correctly assessed for all the patients. At this assessment in July 2026, we found that the concerns had been addressed and the risks mitigated.

Reception staff were aware of the system of triage to assign appointments to patients based on their needs and knew how to quickly escalate concerns to the clinical team based on the guide provided by the practice management. Health check reviews for autistic people and people with learning disability were completed and care plans reviewed.

Delivering evidence-based care and treatment

Score: 3

The service planned and delivered people’s care and treatment with them, including what was important and mattered to them. They did this in line with legislation and current evidence-based good practice and standards. Systems were in place to ensure staff were up to date with evidence-based guidance and legislation. Clinical records we saw demonstrated care was provided in line with current guidance. This indicated that the concerns found at the last assessment in November 2025 had been addressed and the risks mitigated at this assessment in July 2026.
