Our view of the service

We carried out this inspection from 10 to 23 March 2026. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 11 people living in the home at the time of our inspection. We inspected 33 quality statements. We inspected the service due to receiving information or concern and to follow up on the enforcement action we had taken during the previous inspection.

The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to fit and proper staff and good governance. Improvements were found at this inspection, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.

The provider was highly motivated to maintain a high level of care to people. People were protected and kept safe. People’s health conditions and associated risks were assessed and managed safely. Staff were recruited safely and received appropriate training and supervision. Staff were trained to raise and respond to safeguarding concerns both internally and to external agencies. Medicines were stored, documented, and administered safely.

People’s needs were assessed and reviewed. People were supported by staff who treated them with kindness and respected their dignity. Staff ensured people’s care and support met individual needs and preferences.

There was a system in place for responding to concerns or complaints. A dedicated management team led the service. Staff were able to raise concerns and told us managers were approachable and supportive.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.

People's experience of this service

We spoke with some relatives and used observation to assess whether people received good care. We undertook an observation using Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). This meant we observed 2 people for 30 minutes, recording their mood, well-being, activities, and interactions with staff during this time. We observed staff were kind.

We spoke with relatives, 1 relative told us, “We are very happy with where our relative lives and our relative is extremely happy. If we have any concerns, we will contact the home and raise them. We have no worries”. Another relative told us, “We are very confident that our relative is cared for professionally and appropriately. Our relative feels safe and happy with their staff team.”

Relatives also told us the home was clean, and they are happy with the improvements they have seen. They told us they are kept up to date with relevant information, and the registered manager is contactable if they have any concerns.
