Our view of the service

This responsive assessment was carried out to check if the service had made improvements since our last inspection.

Excelle Home Care provides care and support to people living in their own home. Not everyone using Excelle Home Care received regulated activity; the CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with ‘personal care’; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also take into account any wider social care provided. This assessment was carried with a site visit to the office location.

This assessment was carried out by an assessor and a regulatory coordinator. Assessment activity started on 16 June 2025 and ended on 7 July 2025. We looked at 15 quality statements as part of this assessment. We gave the service 48 hours’ notice of the inspection. This was because we wanted to make sure someone would be available to support us with the inspection. The site visit was carried out on 18 June 2025. We gathered further information remotely from the service such as staff call logs and policies. We also spoke to relatives of people that used the service and staff after the site visit.

People's experience of this service

At our last comprehensive inspection, we found breaches of regulations regarding risk, staffing, and good governance. At this assessment, we found the service had made improvements and was no longer in breach of regulations.

There were systems to ensure staff attended care visits on time and management had oversight of this. There were safeguarding systems to safeguard people from abuse. Risk assessments were in place to ensure people received safe care. Staff were recruited safely. Staff had completed key training to perform their role effectively. Medicines were being managed safely.

Quality assurance systems were in place to ensure people received safe care. There were quality monitoring systems to obtain feedback and ensure there was a culture of continuous improvement.
