Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this. One person told us, “We are asked to complete a questionnaire about how satisfied we are with our care. The care is fantastic, and I give them top marks on everything.” A relative told us, "We have regular reviews of [family members] care. We are all involved."

People knew how to make a complaint and had guidance on who to contact if they wanted to raise concerns. One person told us they had raised a minor concern, and it had been dealt with very quickly and to their satisfaction.

Staff told us they encouraged people to discuss their care both formally and informally on an ongoing basis. One staff member said, “I seek views and feedback from clients during the visit. I always ask and never assume and maintain good communication which allows me to provide the best care for the client. Clients are also able to leave reviews for carers on the app.”

The management team told us there were different forums for people to raise concerns or give their views about their care. For example, there were regular reviews of people’s care, satisfaction questionnaires, spot checks where people were asked for feedback and the complaints procedure which people could use to raise any concerns.
