We found this practice was providing safe care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

The premises were visibly clean, well maintained and free from clutter.

Emergency medicines and defibrillator kits were complete and monitored to ensure materials did not pass their use by date.

The practice carried out sedation treatment. A second oxygen cylinder was available.

Cleaning schedules were completed, and staff had oversight of cleaning standards. Colour coded cleaning equipment was stored appropriately to reduce the risk of cross infection.

Gas boiler and air conditioning servicing records were available.

The management of fire safety was effective. Fire drills were carried out at appropriate intervals. Fire alarm and fire extinguisher inspection records were available and weekly fire alarm testing was carried out.

Sharps bins were stored correctly in treatment room.

Evidence was available to confirm that the dental laboratories used by the practice, were registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

At the focused inspection on 3 April 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations.

The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures that reflected relevant legislation, to help them employ suitable staff, including agency or locum staff.

Newly appointed staff had an appropriate role specific structured induction.

Training was monitored to ensure staff were up to date with mandatory training.

Safeguarding children and adults at risk training (specific to role) was completed by all staff.
