People’s Experience

We received feedback from 2 patients via the CQC quick response code which we sent to the practice two weeks before the inspection. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included “Excellent service, very clean and highly recommend.” and “attentive and friendly staff that go above and beyond to make sure patients are dealt with accurately.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We reviewed the most recent patient survey results completed in December 2024. Summarised results showed that patients had a high level of trust in the dental team; clinical staff were good at explaining treatments and treatment options and patients felt they were treated with care and concern. Patients identified an area for improvement relating to privacy in the reception area and we saw that an action plan was in place to address this.

During our inspection we observed that members of staff were courteous and very helpful to patients and treated them with dignity and respect. Surgery room doors were closed during consultations; conversations taking place in these rooms could not be overheard.

We observed that the reception area did not ensure adequate privacy. An unrelated business operated from the same premises, and the reception space was shared between both parties. This arrangement increased the risk of others overhearing confidential information taking place.

Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights.

Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality, and we saw that this was considered. For example, notices were displayed informing patients that other rooms were available to discuss sensitive matters away from the reception area.

Staff told us they felt respected, valued and supported in their roles.

Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
