Our view of the service

We carried out this announced off-site inspection on 14 August 2026.

Where we carry out an offsite assessment, we undertake a detailed review of the practice risk assessments, audits, policies, staff records and other relevant documents. We gather feedback from patients, staff and stakeholders (where relevant). We carry out a remote visual assessment of the premises and have discussions with staff.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Mydentist – Cross Street - Ryde is part of Mydentist, a dental group provider. The practice is in Ryde on the Isle of Wight and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice, and limited car parking spaces available near the practice.

The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 18 staff. We gathered feedback from and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We also spoke with two of the organisation’s regulatory officers.
