People were at the centre of the care at Avon View, where possible they were involved in their care. Care was planned in accordance with all relevant parties, to ensure care was holistic in its delivery.

Person-centred Care

Staff were working with people in a person-centred way, they knew them well. Staff were responsive to people’s needs and they appreciated the period of change they were going through. One member of staff told us, “We are working well and effectively with the ongoing changes. Change is inevitable and we need to try new things to see what works and if not try something else.”

People told us they were involved in their care. Staff attended to their needs in the way they preferred. Staff were satisfied with the standard of information about people. The manager told us they were reviewing and updating care plans for people, and these would be continually developed. The home worked with an electronic care planning system which was updated. This meant staff were always working with the most up to date information.
