Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 21 May 2026 to 5 June 2026.

The service is a homecare agency providing support to adults with dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. At the time of inspection, the service was supporting 2 people with the regulated activity of personal care and treatment of disorder, disease and injury (TDDI) which included a live in service.

The service was previously registered under provider Baxters Homecare and received an overall rating of Good in 2017. This was the first inspection of the service under the new provider Baxters Homecare LTD since registration in 2024.

The service had an excellent culture which reflected the values of the provider “caring with compassion.” The provider ensured people received exceptional person-centred care, which enabled people to transition seamlessly and safely between healthcare services. People’s environments and medicines were managed exceptionally well, and people received bespoke care from a consistent, continuous staffing team who knew people and their relatives very well.

The service assessed people’s needs and actively worked to provide and develop evidence-based care and treatment in line with national guidance. Staff worked incredibly well to ensure people, their relatives and healthcare professionals were included in reviews of their care, and their outcomes and quality of life were continuously monitored and improved.

Leaders and staff treated people, their relatives and professionals with exceptional kindness and respect. They actively ensured people had equitable access, experience and outcomes in care. The provider had recently achieved accreditation under the Gold Standards Framework for end-of-life care.

Leaders of the service demonstrated excellent knowledge and skills and cared deeply for their staff. As well as a focus on high quality care, they focussed on their staff team’s development in clinical knowledge and funded them to complete healthcare qualifications relevant to their role.

An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not used by anyone with a learning disability or an autistic person. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group.
