Our view of the service
Date of assessment 11 September to 30 September 2025. Our assessments visits were conducted over 2 days; we visited the registered office location on the 11 September 2025 and supported living service on 15 September 2025.
Lifeways Community Care Limited (Norfolk) is a service that provides personal care to people living in their own apartments. In supported living people’s care and housing are provided under separate contractual agreements. The service provides support to those with learning disabilities and autistic people for up to 16 adults. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks relating to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our visit the service was providing a regulated activity to 3 people.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities most people take for granted.
The service demonstrated how it met the principles of right support, right care, and right culture:
Right Support:
People were protected from abuse and harm. The registered manager encouraged open discussion when things went wrong, shared lessons learned and made improvements. Systems were in place to minimise risks, and people were supported to have maximum choice and control in the least restrictive way, in line with service policies.
Right Care:
A relative reported that staff were kind, caring, and listened to them. They felt confident that concerns would be addressed appropriately. People’s dignity, privacy, and independence were respected, and care was responsive to individual needs and preferences.
Right Culture:
The registered manager monitored and reviewed service quality, including care record audits. Feedback from people and relatives was used to drive improvements and support learning.
People's experience of this service
Some people weren’t able to share their experiences directly, but we observed care and support being provided. With help from staff, we spoke to 1 person who said they enjoyed living at St Thomas House, they liked the food choices, and thought the staff were great.
We also spoke to a relative who was really positive about the care their loved one received.
