Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. We were told, “They make you feel at ease,” and “Everyone is very welcoming.”

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. One patient said that staff were good at “Attention to detail, care, helpfulness and kindness.”

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We were provided with a patient survey. We saw that results were wholly positive with patients praising staff for their kind and caring nature and the ease of booking emergency appointments.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. We were told that leaders were always available to talk to and that if staff had a problem, management would always listen and try to sort it out.
