Governance, management and sustainability
At the inspection on 2 April 2026 we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
Improvements had been made to the system for ensuring the safety of the X-ray equipment. The practice was currently undergoing renovation which includes installation of new X-ray machines. We were told that as part of the renovation process new critical examination and acceptance tests would be carried out on the new machines and any recommendations actioned. We saw evidence of local rules which had been signed by staff to confirm awareness and understanding. A process was also in place to check for any damage to X-ray films.
Improvements had been made to the system for ensuring staff are up-to-date with required training. Staff told us about and we were shown evidence of an updated system to monitor staff training. This system would identify when staff were due to complete required training.
Improvements had been made to the induction process. Staff told us about the induction process. This was role specific and included ensuring staff were fully prepared for their role. We saw evidence of a completed induction for a newly recruited member of staff.
Improvements had been made to the system for managing referrals to other healthcare providers. We were shown and discussed the current process for ensuring referrals to other healthcare providers are sent and received in a timely manner. We saw evidence of log sheets for this and how they would identify if a referral had gone missing.
A new disability access audit had been completed. Since the previous inspection the service has put arrangements in place to enable staff to access language translation and sign language services.
The practice had also made further improvements:
Staff had implemented a revised deep cleaning programme. This included a cleaning schedule which specified the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the practice and was in line with national guidance.
Improvements had been made to safeguarding procedures. A robust safeguarding policy and procedure was in place to protect people from abuse or neglect. We discussed training requirements for staff and this was in line with national guidance.
A new practice manager had been appointed since the previous inspection. They felt supported by the wider leadership team.
