Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Comments included, “I can honestly say this dental practice has changed my life. From the very beginning, the team have taken me on a journey with my dental care, always being patient, understanding and supportive…especially as someone who is very anxious about visiting the dentist. [Clinician] has always taken the time to explain everything clearly and recommend what is genuinely best for me, rather than just doing work for the sake of it. That level of care and honesty has made such a difference and has really helped reduce my anxiety around dental appointments. I’m so pleased with the results and the overall experience I’ve had. Every member of the team is friendly, professional and caring.”

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. Comments included, “Great dentist, very professional and have provided a great service to me and my 2 kids. My son is autistic and they have been very understanding. Good patient care all round.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Comments included, “I have been attending this practice since the previous owner of the practice retired. I have always found [clinicians] incredibly professional, efficient and excellent with all my treatments over approximately 15 years. The dental nurses are efficient and caring and the reception staff are also polite and efficient. I attend regular 6 monthly appointments but if ever I have required urgent treatment, I have never had a problem in being seen promptly.”

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

We were provided with a patient survey which showed positive results.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
