Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 31 March 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 14. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Prior to our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 5 patients. We saw patient feedback from 4 patients, who had completed paper feedback forms during the inspection day. On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback from over 190 patients, who had left online reviews. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included:
“My Experience from day one has been outstanding. I went to Smile Stylist with a few issues. All the staff were welcoming and [the dentist] was very knowledgeable. I am so happy with my treatment so far and really looking forward to the end result.”
“I am writing to say how overwhelmingly happy I have been with the service at smile stylist, [my dentist] is absolutely brilliant. I have referred many of my friends and now my family to him. The atmosphere is extremely professional and very friendly. I feel comfortable asking any questions and all my concerns are promptly addressed. It is a fantastic setting. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.”
“I would just like to pass on my incredible experience with the Smile Stylist Team at Hale Barns branch, the staff are incredibly lovely, as soon as you step through the door it is warm and polite, they have always asked me about my week and offered me a drink before my appointment, I could not appreciate them enough especially when entering a dentist space it’s lovely to have your nerves suppressed by the amazing team. Going with Smile Stylist for the best treatment you can get.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. “The clinic itself was spotless and I was even offered a drink!”
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “I feel comfortable asking any questions and all my concerns are promptly addressed. It is a fantastic setting. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.”
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given. Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
