People said they could get appointments to suit them, including for urgent treatment. There were arrangements for people to get help when the practice was closed.

People told us, and the records confirmed the dentists, hygienist and therapist talked with people about their general health. The clinical staff made sure the practice had all the relevant medical information before treating someone. All staff we met, including the administration staff, knew how to act in the event of a medical emergency. The practice had most of the appropriate emergency equipment required of them, but had not acquired an automated external defibrillator. This was a requirement of dentists that had only just come into force at the time of our visit.

The practice and equipment was clean. We found some of the technical requirements for the decontamination of dental instruments were not being fully followed, but most were done to an acceptable standard.

The practice had a procedure for responding appropriately to any complaints (although it had not had any formal complaints). Patient records were kept safely and securely. Other records to show the practice was safely maintained and managed were available.
