At the inspection on 23 February 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Staff could access emergency equipment and medicines that were checked in line with national guidance. They knew how to respond to a medical emergency and had completed training in emergency resuscitation and basic life support every year.

We saw satisfactory records of servicing and validation of equipment in line with manufacturer’s instructions. Since our previous inspection, X-ray equipment had a 3 yearly test carried out to ensure they were safe for use.

The practice managed fire safety well, and fire exits were clear and well signposted. Since our previous inspection, the management and oversight of fire safety had improved. A 5 yearly electrical installation condition report (fixed wiring) and a gas boiler service had been carried out. We found evidence of monthly emergency lighting tests in place and regular fire evacuation drills had been carried out.

The practice had improved their systems for appropriate and safe management of medicines.

The practice had strengthened their infection control procedures which reflected published guidance.

The practice had strengthened their procedures to reduce the risk of Legionella, or other bacteria, developing in water systems, in line with a risk assessment and current guidance.

The practice offered conscious sedation for patients. Since our previous inspection, the practice had strengthened their systems which included checks before and after treatment, emergency equipment requirements, medicines management, sedation equipment checks, and staff availability and training.

The practice had improved their systems for prescribing and dispensing of medicines in line with current guidance. They carried out antimicrobial prescribing audits.

Patients were referred to primary and secondary care specialists for treatment the practice did not provide. This included referring patients with suspected cancer under the national faster diagnosis pathways. Improvements had been made to ensure better oversight of referrals made to private practices, to ensure appropriate follow-up.

The practice had systems and processes for learning, quality assurance and continuous improvement. This included undertaking audits according to recognised guidance.
