Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. Comments included, “I was recommended this dentist by my friend for their kind, caring and considerate manners and service. It did not disappoint and nearly 8 years later, I’m happier than ever, which as a previous ‘scaredy cat’ patient, it’s quite an achievement for me! I recommend [clinician] and his team to all my family and friends!”
Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Comments included, “I am an extremely nervous patient but [clinician] and his nurses are always so kind and considerate when I have my appointments. [Clinician] always talks so calmly and explains everything along the way and is always so understanding at my terrible gag reflex, of which I am embarrassed. Reception staff always greet you with a friendly smile. I took a long time to go to the dentists on my own but now at 66 I stroll in like I’m visiting friends. I would not want to go anywhere else.”
Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.
Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to all patients.
People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported.
