Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 16 September 2025. During this inspection, we assessed the safe, effective and well-led key questions. We did not assess caring and responsive.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice had some systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control. However, these were not always working effectively and required improvement.
Leadership and oversight of the service was not always effective. Processes for continuous improvement required improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
We were unable to assess the recruitment processes or staff files on the day of inspection due to a provider IT system failure. We were also unable to review the equipment servicing documentation. We will cover this aspect of the inspection methodology when we return for a follow-up inspection.
The practice is in Wilmslow and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults.
There was step-free access to the practice via a portable ramp and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. The total number of staff was 10. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
