Equity in access
Staff were clear about the importance of providing emotional support to patients when delivering care.
The frequency of appointments was agreed between the dentist and the patient, giving due regard to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines. However, patients said that appointments were regularly cancelled, and that they could not get through to the practice as the telephones were routinely not answered.
The practice displayed its opening hours at the practice and on their website. Improvements were needed so that the information provided to patients was clear in terms of how they could contact the practice and the arrangements for raising complaints and concerns.
Improvements were needed to the arrangements for assessing the needs of people with disabilities and making reasonable adjustments to support people. The practice disability access audit was incomplete and did not reflect the layout of the premises.
The was step free access to the treatment rooms. There were no accessible toilet facilities, Staff were unsure if there was a hearing induction loop available
