Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. “[The dentist] and his team are so kind, patient and thoroughly professional. Their care is superb at all times. With their friendly and warm manner, from the moment you enter the practice, you are put at ease.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. “[The dentist] is very professional yet friendly and always makes me feel welcome, even though it’s not my favourite place to visit! The whole practice is fantastic, and I feel very privileged to be a patient there.”

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. “I’m made to feel important and I know that’s the same for all patients.”

We were provided with a patient survey. All respondents indicated they would recommend the practice to others.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. “I have a good rapport with my colleagues and patients. I feel valued and appreciated, my hard work and reliability are praised. Despite it being a stressful job at times we manage to have a laugh and enjoy each other’s stories!”
