Safe environments
At the inspection on 2 October 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:
Processes for identifying and managing risks associated with treatment under sedation had been strengthened.
Arrangements were in place to ensure the practice was secure and adequately staffed during sedation procedures.
Staff members involved in the delivery of care and treatment to patients under sedation had carried out immediate life support training, taking into account the guidelines published by The Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry in the document 'Standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care 2020’.
Maintenance records were available for the sedation equipment. For example, we were provided with evidence to demonstrate the pulse oximeter had been calibrated.
