Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to all patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient commented, “Such a lovely, helpful practice. Always a pleasure to visit,” and another told us, “An amazing orthodontist, always produces top quality results. They are professional and caring and the practice is so friendly and welcoming.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. The practice manager documented different religious festivals in the diary, so they were aware if patients may not be able to attend on certain dates.

We reviewed the results of 38 patient satisfaction survey responses; 100% of respondents recommend the practice to others.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. Staff told us that the practice fostered a supportive and collaborative environment where staff worked effectively together to provide high quality patient care. One staff member told us, “The team is friendly, supportive and professional. Everyone works together to give the patients the best possible experience.”
