We found this practice was now providing safe care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

The provider had made improvements in relation to the regulatory breach we found at our inspection on 4 February 2025.

At the inspection on 7 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) was completed on 25 March 2025, with most actions addressed. Both compressors and the relative analgesia machine had been serviced in line with manufacturers’ guidance, and air conditioning units had been serviced with remedial actions completed. The surgical drill unit was not yet due for servicing, in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
 

Refrigerator temperature checks were now in place, although staff awareness of actions to take if readings fall out of range could be improved. A new fire door, previously identified as an outstanding action from the February 2023 fire risk assessment, had been installed. Fire alarms and emergency lighting were checked and serviced as required, and fire extinguishers had also been serviced with all necessary actions completed.

Most staff had completed training in Basic Life Support and fire awareness, with the practice actively following up with those outstanding. Similarly, radiography and radiation protection training had been completed by some staff, with further follow-up planned to ensure full compliance.
 

A radiograph audit had been completed; however improvements were needed to ensure it was suitable to drive improvement. For example, the audit was undated, used both the updated and the previous classification of radiographs, and there were no actions or a date for the next audit.

A Laser Protection Advisor (LPA) had been appointed, and local rules were now present.
 

At the inspection on 7 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

We saw that the practice had implemented a system to track training for staff. Time was needed for this to be embedded.

Most staff had completed training in Basic Life Support, Infection prevention and control, Safeguarding, fire awareness and in the Mental Capacity Act. Improvements were still required to ensure all staff were suitably trained.
 

At the inspection on 7 May 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

We saw that monthly water temperature checks were now being carried out. However, some readings were out of range. Improvements were required to ensure that staff were aware of what actions to take when this occurred.
 

We were told that dental water lines were being flushed between patients and whilst some actions from the Legionella risk assessment completed in February 2023 had been actioned, some remained outstanding. We were assured these will be carried out.
