Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 13 August 2025.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice did not have effective systems to identify and manage risks. In particular, the risks associated with radiation safety, medical emergencies, sharps safety and lone working. Safeguarding processes could be improved.
Recruitment procedures did not fully reflect current legislation. Although patients’ care and treatment followed relevant guidance, improvements were needed to ensure that patient care records contained accurate and the necessary level of detail, in accordance with current guidance.
However, staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles, and there was a culture of continuous improvement. Staff treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required. Infection prevention and control processes were in line with national guidance.
Chiswick Park Dental Practice is in West London and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 10 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists, and 1 receptionist. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal dentist, 1 dental nurse, and the receptionist.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 17, Good governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
