We found this practice was providing well-led care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

At the inspection on 3 November 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

The practice's risk management systems for monitoring and mitigating the various risks arising from the carrying on of the regulated activities had improved.

The practice had updated their fire risk assessment to ensure the requirements of emergency lighting had been addressed and the practice had introduced monthly checks of the fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

The practice had liaised with their Radiation Protection Advisor and acted on recommendations from the critical examinations and 3 yearly performance reports for the X-ray units.

Emergency equipment and medicines were available in line with national guidance. The practice had improved their processes for monitoring the medical emergency medicines and equipment, to ensure that the correct items were stored on site. They had also fully assessed and mitigated the risks associated with lone working.

In addition, improvements had been made to the monitoring and oversight of staff training and recruitment records. The practice had discussed the processes for managing potential safeguarding concerns within a practice meeting, and all staff knew where to locate safeguarding information to support them to make a safeguarding referral if required. Staff had also discussed the management of potential sharp’s injuries within a practice meeting, and staff knew how to locate details of the local occupational health service for advice.

The practice had also made further improvements. The practice had introduced a log to monitor patient referrals to other dental or health care professionals, to ensure they were received in a timely manner and not lost. They had also updated their labelling of dispensed medicines so that the name and address of the supplying dentist was included.

The clinicians had taken action to ensure dental care records followed guidance provided by the College of General Dentistry. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging was returned from the external CBCT agency with a report. In addition to Level 1 training, some clinicians had completed the required level 2 training so they could report on the imaging themselves.
