There was a programme of organised activities which people could choose to join in with. During the inspection we saw people in groups playing games and taking part in gentle exercise. There was much laughter and chatter showing people were enjoying the social stimulation.

Workforce wellbeing and enablement

Score: 3

The provider cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff and supported and enabled staff to always deliver person-centred care.

Since taking over the care home the provider had arranged team building sessions to help staff to bond as a team. The registered manager told us this had had a positive effect on staff morale and the culture of the home. They had implemented a QR code where staff could leave feedback at the end of the shift. They also had an employee of the month award where staff could receive a voucher in recognition.

Most staff spoken with felt valued by the provider. One said “Always receiving appreciation, there is a QR code which you can scan when you leave your shift, and you can leave feedback. The managers receive regular feedback.” Another member of staff said, “I feel like I’m valued and that I’m part of it."
