Our view of the service

Apace Support Services Limited is a domiciliary care agency providing support with personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our inspection, 2 people were receiving support with personal care. This is the first time CQC has carried out an inspection of this service.

We undertook an announced inspection visit to the service on 30 April 2026 where we met with the registered manager, nominated individual, deputy manager and a support worker. We subsequently carried out telephone interviews with relatives of people who used the service. We have undertaken a comprehensive inspection which means we have reviewed all 33 quality statements. As a result of this inspection, we have rated the service as good for safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led and good overall.

Steps had been taken to safeguard people from abuse and risk assessments were in place to help mitigate risks people faced. There were enough staff to support people. People’s needs were assessed and reviewed. Staff undertook training to support them in their role. Staff, management and people worked together to ensure needs were met. People were able to consent to their care. The provider promoted the wellbeing of its staff. Care and support were person centred. People were listened to and involved in planning their care. The provider had various quality assurance and monitoring systems in place to help drive improvements. Staff and people who used the service spoke positively about the leadership team and there was a shared and open culture at the service.

People's experience of this service

Relatives told us people experienced good quality and safe care. A relative told us, “To be fair, they [staff] are lovely. My [relative] has not complained. I don’t need to worry when they are there.” Another relative said, “I am happy with the service they provide, I would give them 8 or 9 out of 10.” People experienced care that was person-centred, based around their individual needs. Staff who worked with people interacted with them in a way that promoted their privacy, dignity and independence. People received care and support that was safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
