Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to patients.

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient told us, “They are an amazing team, who are extremely friendly, polite and professional. It is always a pleasure to see them.”

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. One patient told us, “Really honest advice and no pressure to receive treatment. As many people growing up I was worried about going to the dentist, but over twenty years ago I found Mount Dental Practice. Ever since then I go for regular check-ups and when they find something I have no hesitation to have the work done.”

We reviewed the results of the NHS Friends and Family Test feedback forms collected by the practice. Out of 26 responses, 100% were extremely likely or likely to recommend the service to others. One patient commented, “I have come here for years and although there is a dentist closer, I will always come here. Staff are lovely and always do an amazing job.”

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. One staff member told us, “It is a very friendly atmosphere and we have very good and friendly communication with our patients, which the patients are grateful for.”
