Our view of the service

We carried out a comprehensive assessment of specialist community mental health services for children and young people at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic on 10 and 11 June 2026.

We assessed this service as part of our routine inspection schedule. This was the first inspection of this service since it registered.

The service offers assessment and treatment from consultant psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists. The service provides treatment for conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder and addictions. A wide range of therapies were on offer including cognitive and dialectical behaviour therapies (DBT) and cognitive analytic therapy (CAT).

At this assessment we rated the service as good.

The service assessed and managed risks and had clear processes to identify whether they could safely meet the needs of clients. They were able to offer a wide range of interventions and clients were involved in decisions in their care. Staff morale was high and there was a wide range of ongoing training available to the staff group, with a focus on ongoing professional development. Staff managed safeguarding concerns well and made these processes clear to clients from the start of treatment. The environment was welcoming, comfortable and safe.

We found 1 breach of regulation relating to the notification of certain incidents to the Care Quality Commission. The service confirmed this would be addressed immediately.

During the inspection, we gathered feedback from 16 members of staff who worked at the service and 9 clients and 3 carers to understand their experiences of the service. We also reviewed 15 care records.
