During our inspection of 21 January 2013 we reviewed evidence which demonstrated to us that Downham Dental practice's staff had been immunised and developed immunity against Hepatitis B. The practice also followed Depart of Health guidance for the sterilisation of dental equipment.
People told us, "The dentist always reads my dental records and ensures that my health or medication has not changed since my last visit".
We checked staff records during our inspection for immunisation information and found that the practice could not demonstrate to us evidence that all clinical staff had developed immunity.
During our inspection visit we checked three of the practice's staff files and found that dental staff received regular supervision from the dentists and also the practice manager.
We found that the service sought information from people, their representatives and staff about their views of the care and treatment provided by the service.
