Governance, management and sustainability
At the focused follow-up inspection on 6 October 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:
Policies and procedures were readily accessible to all staff.
Staff had carried out a disability access audit and had an action plan to continually improve access for patients.
Radiography audits were carried out 6 monthly in line with the College of General Dentistry guidelines.
The practice had systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents. A general data protection regulation compliant accident book was available to record accidents.
The practice had systems in place to respond to concerns and complaints appropriately and information for patients was available in the waiting area.
Relevant policies and protocols were in place for the use of closed-circuit television.
There were effective processes for receiving and acting on safety alerts.
The window blind in the public facing aspect of the building on the first-floor treatment room was used effectively to protect the privacy and dignity of patients who sat in the treatment chair.
The practice could confirm that external laboratories used to provide dental appliances for patients were registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Agency (MHRA). Further improvement should be made to verify that laboratory’s MHRA registration information is valid.
