The provider had made significant improvements to the systems in place for the management of fire safety across the premises. A comprehensive fire safety risk assessment was completed on 25 July 2025 by a competent person, which identified several recommendations to further enhance fire safety. The practice had completed all recommendations, including appropriate management of trailing leads and adapters, separating combustibles from ignition sources, ensuring fire exits are immediately openable, improving compartmentation and the installation of emergency escape lighting alongside an interlinked fire detection and alarm system.

Fire exit routes were clearly signposted and free from obstruction and staff carried out fire evacuation drills.

The practice conducted regular in-house checks of all fire safety equipment and maintained accurate records of these checks. The provider told us all staff had received training to ensure they are confident in operating and testing the newly installed equipment and responding appropriately in an emergency situation.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), which confirms the condition of fixed electrical installations within the premises, had been carried out on 27 July 2025. The report identified a number of recommendations, requiring urgent action. We saw evidence that all remedial works arising from these recommendations had been completed. A follow-up EICR was issued on 12 October 2025, following completion of the remedial works, confirming that the condition of the fixed electrical installations was satisfactory.

Electrical Equipment Testing was carried out on 22 September 2025, with all electrical devices achieving a ‘pass’ result.

The practice had carried out a risk assessment to minimise the risk that could be caused from the substances hazardous to health. Safety data sheets were available to staff in line with the relevant legislation.

The practice had reviewed and updated their sharps and general health and safety risk assessment in January 2026. These assessments now accurately reflected the arrangements in place within the service.

Emergency equipment and medicines were available in accordance with national guidance. The practice had implemented effective weekly checks to ensure missing or out-of-date items could be quickly identified and replaced.

The practice recruitment policy and procedures reflected relevant legislation and the required recruitment documentation, including vaccination records and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates, were available for every member of staff.

The practice had implemented improved arrangements to ensure staff training was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals. The compliance portal used by the practice included a training matrix dashboard, enabling management to track the completion of mandatory training and to identify any outstanding learning requirements. All members of staff had completed training modules relevant to their role.
