Our view of the service
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
This inspection highlighted several issues and omissions such as those relating to fire safety management, recruitment, medicines management, sedation, infection prevention and control, and governance.
The practice is in Reading and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking, including dedicated parking for disabled people, was available near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms.
During the inspection we spoke with a dentist, hygienist, dental nurse, receptionist and the provider’s personal assistant.
The provider was not complying with all regulations.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our on-site inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us.
We received feedback from 7 patients. On the day of our inspection, we obtained patient feedback from a further 6 patients.
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “They were very efficient during my appointment. Staff are kind and helpful.”
“The principal dentist always goes above and beyond to ensure I feel comfortable as they know I have previously had bad experiences at a dentist.”
“Been with this practice for 16 years and always had extremely helpful and caring. This helps when you are frightened of attending the dentist.”
“The patient care , dedication, and outstanding professionalism is fantastic.
“The dental procedures and the incredible amount of detail and thought that is put into the planning process is brilliant.”
“The actual dentistry is absolutely second to none with the most amazing and phenomenal perfection achieved.”
“I have been a customer at this practice for over 10 years. Their service is excellent. Their staff are friendly, and the quality of their care is second to none.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
They told us they were able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and that they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients said they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs and were involved in decisions about their care.
Patients also felt they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
While the people we questioned told us that they were happy with their care, our inspection found there were regulations that were not met.
