Governance, management and sustainability

Regulations met

Findings from our inspection of August 2025 found that oversight and governance was not effective. Systems and processes were not embedded, and the inspection highlighted several issues and omissions in relation to the safety of the premises, systems to manage risk, security of prescriptions, and general oversight and governance. Where audit had been undertaken, this was not used effectively to drive improvement and learning.

At our follow-up inspection of March 2026, we found improvements had been made. Records held and available for inspection, demonstrated that new and refined systems in place had been adopted and accepted by all staff. Policies and protocols to support this were understood by all staff members. Improvements in place gave assurance that risk assessments were understood by staff, and that regular review of risk assessments enabled safer ways of working. There was an improved distribution of management tasks, and better support systems in place to ensure key duties were completed. They system of audit in place enabled a focus on improvement, for example, in prescribing and adherence to protocols and in management and maintenance of patient clinical records. Staff were able to access up to date information and contact details of occupational health services. Oversight of staff training and development had improved, with systems in place to maintain this.

Our findings from this follow-up inspection demonstrated that the practice was now compliant with regulations and had addressed areas of concern we had previously highlighted.
