Equity in access
The practice had access to large print or alternative formats of information, reading glasses to support patients with impaired vision.
Staff had access to language translation services.
The practice had a hearing induction loop to support patients with a hearing impairment.
The practice reception and treatment rooms were wheelchair accessible with step-free access.
Staff had carried out a disability access audit and had an action plan to continually improve access for patients. However, improvement should be made to ensure the accessible toilet meets the needs of disabled patients.
Staff were clear about the importance of providing emotional support to patients when delivering care.
The practice displayed its opening hours and provided information on their website, at the entrance to the practice and in their patient information leaflet.
The frequency of appointments was agreed between the dentist and the patient, giving due regard to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines.
At the time of our inspection, patients who needed an urgent appointment were offered one in a timely manner.
