Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 20 February 2026 to 24 February 2026.This is the first assessment for this newly registered service. The service is a residential home providing support to adults of all ages living with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder or mental health needs. The service is registered to support 1 person.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We found the person received exceptional care that was individual to their needs. Care was delivered in a bespoke environment that had specifically been adapted to meet the person’s individual needs. The person had individualised support to maintain their health and wellbeing and received well-coordinated support to meet their individual needs and preferences.
The person was supported by suitably recruited staff who had been specifically recruited to ensure they had the skills and knowledge to meet the individual’s needs. Staff received exceptional support from the registered manager and provider which enabled them to provide the extraordinary care to the person.
There were systems in place to monitor the quality of the service, ensuring the service progressed, that lessons were learnt and that a positive culture was adopted. The vision, values and culture of the organisation was embraced by everyone who worked there. The impact of this culture and the extraordinary support given to the person was valued by them, their relatives, staff and other professionals.
The person was at the forefront of their care, and this had been developed alongside them with input from relatives and professionals. The person was safeguarded from potential abuse as procedures were in place and followed. Infection control was considered. Medicines were managed safely. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act were understood.
Staff felt listened to and involved and spoke positively about the support they received from the company and the leadership team.
People's experience of this service
Our observations confirmed the person appeared comfortable with staff and they interacted positively with them. It was apparent from these interactions that the person had meaningful relationships with staff that were based on trust.
Relatives spoke fondly of the home and the staff team that offered support. They were full of praise for the staff and spoke warmly about the positive impact they had on their relative. They were overwhelmingly happy with the care they received, the activities they participated and the environment they lived in. They felt involved every step of the way.
